Who is Doctor Who?

I've been wondering about that for sometime now, always hearing it as 'the best sci fi of all time' and 'a piece of popular culture'.
Yet I never bother to actually to find out Who is Doctor Who?

Until a few hours ago,
I searced thru the web (including wikipedia) and found out that its actually a TV series.

Who is Doctor Who?

Doctor Who, a sci-fi series first appeared in BBC television in 1963.
Was one of the earliest sci-fi series ever,
It involves The Doctor who travels thru time and space in the TARDIS(Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space), which is dimensionally transcendental (larger on the inside than on the outside), and seemingly never fully under his control. The TARDIS originally had the ability to disguise itself according to its environment, but became "stuck" in the form of a police box after landing in London in 1963.

Haven't seen the series myself, but from the reviews I've read, it seems to be enjoyable.
It should also noted that the series' most notable characters are perhaps one of his adversaries, The Daleks.

The Daleks even appear on a stamp celebrating British popular culture. XD

Interesting enough, theres a new Doctor Who TV series airing now in the UK,
wonder if the local TV stations here in Malaysia will pick it up soon :)
